Ravior, made-to-measure and nature

Ravior opens a new jewelry store in the heart of the Bagatelle mall at the end of November. Ravi Jetshan and his team are looking forward to presenting their collections, which find in nature an inexhaustible source of inspiration, drawing on the great traditions of Indian and Western jewelry, on the blending of cultures as only theIndianocéanie knows how to make. Without forget the values of this company, which has never ceased to amaze since its creation in 1982.

“For us, the Bagatelle jewelry store is a new beginning, ” exclaims Ravi Jetshan with a big smile. The Covid and post-Covidyears have not been the most exciting for Mauritian luxury goods. “Fortunately, we’ve managed to maintain our know-how, our passion and our in-house team. That’s seventeen people, including twelve craftsmen with… gold in their fingers.

The new location will be Ravior’s largest showroom, a showcase fornew products and the physical counterpart to the website, which the multi-award-winning designer sees as “the mother ship of the house”. Ravior.com allows you not only to discover all the collections, but also to place orders and buy your own jewelry or, more cautiously, to initiate exchanges for a bespoke object to be reinvented.

“We’ll also be presenting a new biocompatible material and our latest collections based on shell fragments, or titanium, a lightweight, hypoallergenic and highly stable material…”.

Conceived in Mauritian kreol, the names of the collections flow like so many universes to be explored: Arboresansbecause nature has always been a guide for this designer; Soleybecause Mauritian sunsets reinvent colors every evening; Be for double rings; Zetwal for its exceptional selection of tax-free gems from Africa, Madagascar and India; Unikbecause a piece of jewelry is as unique as a living being…

For the past five years, 3D has revolutionized the design of these jewels and jewelry pieces, as well as the relationship with customers… 3D design and printing amplify the creative potential of the workshop and enable customers to direct the design of their jewel. “We introduced 3D to preserve the handmade… and the marriage of the two produces exceptional things.”

The jewel is designed on the computer, then 3D printed in a wax-based material, allowing you to try it on and see it in its actual dimensions. Then it’s melted down into gold or silver… So, rather than using traditional jewelry software that could restrict his creativity, Ravi Jetshan chose to use a software package specializing in organic design, which opens up the field of possibilities to all the shapes that nature is capable of inventing!
