On May 13 and 14, push your limits on mountain bikes, in the heart of the island’s emblematic south-eastern landscapes, starting from Riche en Eau! For its fifth edition, the Compagnie de Beau Vallon offers amateurs and professionals alike unique trails – from 20 km to 60 km – and a gradient ranging from 250 m to 920 m.
The sporting event, which is one of the must-attend events on the local and international scene, is part of the Group’s strategy to develop its leisure activities around terrestrial and marine ecotourism. “This competition is particularly important because it combines two of our corporate values: resilience and excellence,” says Christophe Curé, Group Property Manager at Compagnie de Beau Vallon. For his part, race director Sébastien Hacques explains that each edition is improved, taking into account the opinions of the racers, to enable them to challenge the technicality of the circuits year after year.
Several categories are eligible for the Beau Vallon MTB Challenge: Elite (aged 16 to 39), Masters 2 (aged 40 to 49), Masters 3 (over 50) and Buffalos (over 90kg). For two days and one night, the Beau Vallon group and its staff will be mobilized around the competitors, providing bike cleaning and maintenance services, as well as massages for the adventurous mountain bikers crowding in with family and friends.
The program
Participants will be able to take part in the full 120 km race, comprising three stages: a 60 km Discovery Race on Saturday with an 8:00 a.m. start, a 20 km night circuit with a 6:30 p.m. start, and a 40 km Adventure Race the following day, with an 8:30 a.m. start, for Rs. 4,750. A 20 km Fun Race will also take place on Sunday, starting at 8.30 a.m. for Rs. 700. Finally, registration for the 40 km “adventure” course, with a 600 m vertical drop, also on Sunday, is possible for Rs. 900.
Sporting, eco-responsible and full of intense sensations, the fifth edition of the Beau Vallon MTB Challenge promises to be another memorable adventure!
