Graduating in 1997 from the University of Cape Town(Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), the Mauritian subsequently enriched his experience abroad; trained in obstetrics, gynecology and urogynecology throughout the UK; accumulated certifications and distinctions; and in 2012 extended his career with a humanitarian mission in Sierra Leone, alongside his wife Dr. Carolyn Ford. Specializing in gynecological ultrasound, minimally invasive surgery and postmenopausal care, he also presents his work at international conferences.
Closer to his mother and sister, while offering his children the chance to immerse themselves in their cultural heritage, the man sees his return home as a personal and professional privilege. “My role is not only to treat those who consult me, but also to raise awareness and encourage all women to take their health into their own hands. Becauseevery society has its own cultural values and beliefs, healthcare professionals must take these into account to meet patients’ expectations. A treatment will only be effective if it is acceptable to the patient.
