Already boasting the exceptional Château Golf Course and its academic 9-hole course, Heritage Resorts is now the only 45-hole golf destination in the Indian Ocean. Designed by renowned architect Peter Matkovich and South African champion Louis Oosthuizen, La Réserve Golf Links, part of the 2,500-hectare Domaine de Bel Ombre, is one of the world’s finest golf courses. Its layout aims for future GEO certification, a global standard for the design and construction of sustainable courses.

AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 2023

The first international tournament to be held at La Réserve Golf Links, the seventh edition of the ABMO – part of the DP World Tour (DPWT) and the South African Professional Sunshine Tour – takes place from December 14 to 17. In addition to first place, the tournament will award its own Order of Merit; the top professional at the end of the Swing will receive an additional $200,000. If already a member of the DPWT, he or she will receive an invitation to the next Rolex Series tournament, as well as a place in each Back Nine competition.

What are links?

From the Old English word hlinc meaning “ridge” or “sloping ground”, a links course is located by the sea and has an authentic, wild and rugged layout. The sandy soil is sparsely vegetated, with the exception of seagrass and native grasses. Demanding and strongly affected by the winds, the difficult course challenges golfers, who are forced to deal with the natural elements. On a links course, the first 9 goes to the furthest point from the clubhouse and the second 9 leads back inside (Out & In).
