Kafe Kiltir Moris enn sezon 7 kolektor!

In its seven years of existence, Kafe Kiltir Moris has accompanied no fewer than 75 local artists and orchestrated 44 concerts, 38 of them live! It’s in this spirit of promoting local artistic and cultural wealth that the seventh season promises to be much more than a series of musical events… It’s going to be a collector’s item!

Supported by PhoenixBev, the 2023 edition of Kafe Kiltir Moris takes on a whole new dimension! To mark the sixtieth anniversary of Phoenix beer, the initiator set himself the challenge of rewarding sixty players from the Mauritian music industry, operating under the ramps or in their shadow. The launch concert on August 26 at L’Aventure du sucre saw the first seven artists – Ram and Nitish Joganah from Grup Latanier, Bhojpuri Boys, Laura Beg, Eric Triton, Alain Ramanisum and Mr Love – rewarded with an award presented by Patrice Sheik Bajeet, Senior Marketing Manager for PhoenixBev.

Plis ki enn levenman…

The 2023 spotlight shines on a concept reminiscent of the famous 90s French variety show Taratata, adapted to showcase Lamizik lokal, its singing sega, its vibrant reggae… its identity! Kafe Kiltir Moris transforms each performance into a stage surprise, fusing two entities (solo artist or group) with different universes. Something new! At the first event of the season, Bhairava Thappu Group first treated the audience to a subtle blend of Oriental and Creole sounds. Then it was the turn of Grup Latanier, joined for the occasion by the Bhojpuri Boys, followed by the spellbinding duo of Laura Beg and Mr Love, to finish with a selection of segas from Babani Records. The next event will take place in Rodrigues at the end of the year, while the third and final – reggae – concert is scheduled for Mauritius in May 2024. You can find live coverage from 26/08 on the Kafe Kiltir Moris Facebook page.

Enn langazman!

Kafe Kiltir Moris does more than just celebrate talent! Through workshops and master classes led by “greats” of the national and international scene, online akoustik sessions offer young artists a valuable apprenticeship in the trade; professional management that helps them to structure and professionalize their musical project, communicate and collaborate with the press, position and move around on stage… to fulfill themselves as artists! What’s more, a plethora of gifts accompany this highly festive season, such as privileged access to rehearsals. These rehearsals – the Phoenix-LABS – are real work sessions for which the artists, surrounded by renowned coaches such as Eric Triton, are paid. Gestural and vocal chords and other adjustments give rise to the singular alchemy that thrills on the stage of Kafe Kiltir Moris’ free concerts!
