From sushi with foie gras or truffle, to asparagus tempura, Tambourine shakes up conventions by offering bold Japanese cuisine, enriched with flavors and products from elsewhere. Located at Mon Choisy Le Mall, the restaurant invites you to enjoy a gastronomic experience in an original setting, with a focus on conviviality and good humor. ZA
The man behind the project, Nathaniel Aharfi, didn’t want to get bogged down in a purely Japanese straitjacket, even though Japanese cuisine is at the heart of the concept. Originally from Marseille, he was keen to import a piece of France.
The gastronomic experience is unique, thanks to a subtle blend of Japanese classics and ingredients from French and European haute cuisine. The menu features French sweet potatoes, Mediterranean sea bream, crab and Padrón peppers. Eel and other new dishes will soon be added to the menu. To guarantee freshness and quality, products are flown in from France. For starters, Tambourine offers a journey through different cultures.
For this adventure, Nathaniel called on the ingenuity of Chef Nathanaël Adam, a rising star in the world of gastronomy. From Bocuse to Petit Nice, via the Ai Kisu at Lux Grand Baie, this chef has created a veritable culinary revolution, as evidenced by the uniqueness of the menu: fresh poke bowls, 24-hour marinated chicken yakitori, glazed salmon with miso sauce… The menu is full of treasures to discover.
All this is enjoyed in a warm atmosphere, around the grand piano and guitar set up in the room. On Mondays and Saturdays, a pianist brings the house down to the rhythms of jazz and blues, while on other days, regulars know that the mike remains open to music lovers.
