“A trip starts on the plane! This first perception is very important, as is that of the return journey, which must be equal in terms of quality, pleasure and satisfaction”, explained Olivier Sadran, founder and co-chairman of the Newrest group, who was present for the occasion.

With 40,000 employees in 54 countries, the Toulouse-based company, 96%-owned by its 533 management staff, is one of the world leaders in multi-sector catering: In January 2023, Newrest will add the Mauritius stopover to its network of 88 units, consolidating its partnership with Air Mauritius – its customer in various countries for over twenty years – by now providing its services on departure from the island. “Our collaboration with Air Mauritius is the culmination of a real desire to support the airline in its development and improvement, and to give it the benefit of our experience and support in the fields of quality, food safety and training”. For his part, Laurent Recoura, CCO of Air Mauritius, who spoke frankly of the company’s golden age, when it delivered a superior product, declared that “we are now in a position to redesign the customer experience from A to Z, thanks to the long-awaited operational tool”.

To meet the country’s expectations in terms of food hygiene and safety, culinary quality and sustainability, Newrest has invested over 7 million euros in the transformation of its Mauritian premises, offering its 150 employees unparalleled working comfort and the latest environmental standards to its customers.
