International recognition reinforces Emtel’s status as the country’s telecommunications leader. The title of fastest mobile Internet in Mauritius has just been awarded by nPerf, a French company based in Lyon. Delphine Raimond
For over a decade, nPerf (short for “network performance”) has been helping users all over the world to assess the quality of their Internet connections, while helping fixed and mobile operators to improve their services. Based on several criteria, including download and upload speed, nPerf scores are derived from daily throughput tests – over 800 million to date – carried out, and therefore directly experienced, by thousands of people. They contribute to a database dedicated to network analysis.
In 2024, the Mauritian operator’s subscribers enjoyed an average download speed of 159.36 Mbps and an upload speed of 52.62 Mbps. While these figures are impressive, they reflect above all the quality of Emtel’s services and, consequently, the quality of the customer experience.
