SEALODGE, a new look at short-term rental

Founded in 2022 by two French expatriates, Alex Pondville and Marie Fouré, Sealodge has rapidly established itself as a key player in short-term rentals and high-end concierge services in Mauritius. This project was born of a simple ambition: to meet growing demand by offering a complete range of products.

“Initially, we didn’t reinvent the wheel. The idea was to fill the gaps in the local market by importing a model that had been tried and tested in France and Europe,” explains Alex Pondville. “We then adapted and enriched it, thanks to our skills in finance and new technologies, to offer a unique service in Mauritius.

Unlike a traditional concierge service, Sealodge broadens its scope, integrates innovative solutions and pushes back the usual standards. “Our revenue management service, for example, enables us to develop tailor-made pricing strategies, maximizing the attractiveness of each property. A team of around ten people, 80% of them French expatriates, now manages some sixty properties through two agencies in the north and west of the island, in addition to a charming boutique hotel at the foot of Le Morne.

Optimizing profitability: Sealodge’s revenue management experts use high-performance tools and market data to adjust rates and maximize occupancy rates. Each property is optimized according to specific criteria such as location, capacity, standard of living, seasonality and international school vacation periods.

Traveler experience: French staff, experts in European standards, ensure a relationship of trust with travelers. Available 7/7, Sealodge provides them with everything they need, from household linen to on-demand services (excursions, car rental, in-home chef, massages, etc.) Every detail is taken care of, right down to the preparation of a welcome coconut water, if desired. “We aim for the highest rating on each platform at the end of the traveler’s stay,” Marie explains.

Owner experience: each owner benefits from a House Manager dedicated to his or her property; a point of contact and reference for day-to-day operations (welcoming guests, maintenance, upkeep, etc.). In addition, via a secure portal, owners can consult their reservation calendar in real time and manage the periods when they wish to occupy their property.
