You have until Sunday April 23 to discover the exhibition of local paintings organized by the Economic Development Board (EDB) at the Hôtel Le Meridien in Pointe aux Piments.
As part of the EDB’s 2023 action plan to support and democratize the creative art industry in Mauritius, the event represents a great promotional platform for the 55 talented local artists; an opportunity to meet potential international buyers, art collectors, dealers and gallery owners.
The exhibition follows on from the initiatives launched by the EDB in recent years, such as the Mauritius International Art Fair and the Art & Finance conference held in July last year. These events have created a sustainable business model for the new economic pillar that is the Mauritian art scene, by promoting the export of its works of art.
Nanda Narrainen, Head of Creative Industries at the EDB, proclaims: “Our vision for the future is to create a thriving ecosystem for the creative art industry, where artists, art collectors, auction houses, art dealers and galleries can collaborate and create value for all stakeholders.”
