The Pour, House of Light: the magic of candles…

It was at her home in Rivière Noire that Stéphanie Wong casts, molds and shapes her natural, eco-friendly candles. Original sculptural works born of soy and beeswax.

Born into a family of shopkeepers, Stéphanie began her career selling, importing and distributing a variety of professional equipment, before taking a break to see her children grow up. In January 2022, she discovered the artistic world of sculptural candles on Instagram; it was love at first sight! “I love the beauty of transforming a simple material into a finished work.” With a lifelong attraction to craft, she has many creative talents, and boredom is not a part of her life.

The manufacturing process is costly, time-consuming and meticulous, as the molding, demolding, drying and complete hardening phases depend on the fragility of the raw materials chosen. “You often have to start all over again, put a lot of love and passion into it, but I’m convinced that every beautiful thing in life requires dedication.” For Stéphanie, the name of her brand reflects “light in the darkness, hope, a touch of magic, a warm and luxurious atmosphere”. The cotton wick is dressed in soy wax, a healthy material for humans and the planet, providing soft, relaxing lighting. Even more natural and beneficial, beeswax – the basis of the new collection – purifies and detoxifies the air, burns more slowly, and diffuses a gentle honey scent and ardent light.

Stéphanie’s candles are sold all over the island, and can be ordered directly from her. They will soon be available in a unique collection for Christmas, then Valentine’s Day… and many more besides!
