This restaurant–tea room with a Frenchrançais, located in Pointe aux Canonniers, is a local reference in Mauritian Mauritian gastronomy as evidenced by its packed terrace in the morning and its excellent reputation.
Accompanied by her husband Selven, Nadine – a restaurateur in France and the daughter of a restaurateur – runs the family establishment with particular attention to each guest. For breakfast/brunch, lunch, Tea Time and catering orders, both sweet and savory, to be collected by 5:30pm, Théo fourneaux invites you to share his menu, or rather his slate… with suggestions that awaken and awaken our taste buds!
Two dishes of the day are offered daily. From truffle risotto to stuffed chicken ballotines, half-cooked tuna with sesame seeds, butcher’s cuts with home fries, stuffed Provençal sausages, tajines and much more. And let’s not forget the snack section, which features homemade savoury tarts, poke bowls, bruschettas and fresh salads. Or the French pastries, gourmet treats and macaroons that make our reputation. The raw materials are noble and carefully selected, whether local or imported, like the exceptional pistachio straight from Paris. Everything here is homemade, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. In addition to our popular catering service, Théo fourneaux also makes cakes for birthdays and special events.
Every week, Nadine works with her colleagues to choose what will be on the menu, and while she has always taken her inspiration from what was “successful” in her last restaurant in France, it’s clear that in Mauritius, it works rather well!
