We told you about it in February, the second major WWW campaign, a joint initiative by Coca-Cola and PhoenixEarth, ran from December 2022 to April 2023 across the island, involving numerous NGO partners in PET* recycling.
Now it’s time to count up: 8 door-to-door collection sessions over 4 months, 27,000 people made aware of plastic pollution and 7.7 tonnes of PET collected, a figure sadly higher than that of the first edition.
“Mo enn consom-akter responsab!” is what every Mauritian proudly proclaims, as they take responsibility for their civic duties and make daily use of the sorting garbage cans at their disposal. The growing enthusiasm of the population to work together for a cleaner island is truly encouraging!
