As you enter the grounds, the surprise is complete. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the coastal road and entering a small, well-tended tropical garden, nothing else is revealed… As you walk along the flagstones leading to the different rooms and areas of the hotel, lulled by the mere chirping of birds, you discover its peaceful atmosphere. The bungalow housing the reception, the swimming pool, the bar, the restaurant (with its chef straight from Constance Belle Mare Plage)… all the way to the magnificent beach, one of the most beautiful spots in Trou aux Biches.
Renovated and transformed, the Constance Sakoa Boutik is a haven of peace and relaxation at the gateway to Grand Baie. Sixteen rooms (including the Deluxe Beach Front for honeymooners, the suite for two adults and two children, and four connecting rooms), with refined decor by Virginie Koenig, offer a view of the garden or the sea. The Oak restaurant (open to the public) welcomes guests on its covered terrace by the pool or with their feet in the sand, facing the lagoon. The K Bar, chill and convivial, accompanies its cocktails with tapas from 5 p.m., under the soft light of the sunset. A kiosk overlooking the crystal-clear waters offers massages and treatments. All complemented by access to a wide range of water sports.
For the past year, Hotel Manager Giovanna Blin has been ensuring the serenity of the premises and the well-being of both guests and staff. Her human, caring approach and professional experience – she opened the C Mauritius – are invaluable in managing this boutique hotel. “I’m proud of my team, the people who have been with me from the start and who rise to the challenge with me every day. Mutual respect is the driving force behind good management, and you have to be close to your employees, listening to them, for it to work! If I scold (laughs), they know why, but they also know that I have the utmost respect for them.
While the restaurant’s capacity has been doubled (to 70 diners) and the rooms elegantly redecorated (raw wood bedding, wallpaper combining tropical motifs and contemporary design, spacious bathrooms…), Giovanna is passionate about every detail, which she continues to perfect: “I’ve ordered buddhas for the garden, a gong for the entrance, candles and cushions to enhance the bedroom terraces. Inside, the old closets will soon be transformed into decorative shelves and… I’ve finally found our signature room fragrance, which will be white tea!” A woman of challenges, challenges are in her DNA: “I hate standing still (laughs)! I like to innovate, draw inspiration from my customers’ ideas, opinions and suggestions…”.
